Think.
Listen. Talk.

What
did people talk about
when they talked about Tacoma?
On December 5 and 6 people throughout Tacoma came together in nine
different locations (including Lincoln High School & Beacon
Senior Center to talk about their
city. We asked questions and then sat back and listened (and took
lots of notes).
Everybody talked. They
shared their pride, their disappointments, their hopes and dreams
for a city they deeply care about. All in all, over 100 people participated
in Talk Tacoma
How
the evening worked.
1). We created smaller
groups of five to six people from the larger group.
2) A volunteer facilitator asked a series of questions (listed below)
to the small groups.
3). Individuals answered each question, then shared their answers
with others in their group as a table facilitator took notes. There
was time for discussion,
4). The table facilitators reported back to the entire group after
each question. Discussion followed.
5) All the information was collected from the volunteer facilitators
and transcribed by the staff of the Tacoma Public Library.
What follows here are
the questions we asked and the unedited responses. Simply click
